Instructor Spotlight: Faye Wolynec

Our November spotlight is on one of our awesome Body Back instructors, Faye Wolynec! Faye started as a Stroller Strides mama, then experienced the magic of Body Back with her own transformation, and loved it so much she got certified to teach it! She has been teaching Body Back for almost 1.5 years. If you haven't tried one of her classes, what are you waiting for?!

Here's a chance to learn a little more about Faye!

1. Who are the members of your family?

Myself, my husband Mike, and my son Ryker, plus two fluff ball kitties

2. Where do you typically teach?

At Performance Edge in Lansdowne

3. Tell us your story about how/why you became an instructor for FIT4MOM Ashburn.

I had taken a few sessions of Body Back and absolutely loved it. There was an instructor position open and I thought it would be an amazing challenge. I've always been interested in fitness and had considered going into it for my degree so teaching was right up my alley.

4. What is your favorite thing to teach?

I love teaching Body Back rounds classes. They have a great energy to them and since everyone is doing the same exercises the moms really pull together. Even more so if it's a partners rounds class!

5. What is the BEST thing about being an instructor?

Seeing the moms' reactions at the end of the 8 week session when they see how much they have accomplished. Also, when someone is able to do an exercise they were convinced they weren't capable of doing. Seeing them push themselves and have that look of pride on their face is the best moment.

6. What is your WHY? Why do you keep doing what you do?

I strive to be the best example I can be for my son. My motto is 'nothing changes in your comfort zone' and I want to live that everyday. I want him to see that goals and dreams take hard work, and although you may stumble, it's just one step on the journey.

7. What is a fun fact that many may not know about you?

I've had some odd jobs in my younger days. The more odd ones being a clown and a mascot for General Mills. I loved both of them!

8. Anything else you’d like Our Village to know?

FIT4MOM is more than just exercise for me. I found it at a time where I was feeling very isolated in my new role as a mother. I thought I would find a great workout but I also found a group who understood my struggles and brought new energy back into my life.
